CONSETT
ACTIVITIES:
Our Consett centre is situated in a beautiful and tranquil two acre walled garden within the grounds of Minsteracres.
From here we offer our service users the opportunity to gain skills in horticulture, forestry, land management and many other exciting, recreational and training based activities.
Seasonal vegetables and plants are cultivated in our greenhouse and poly-tunnels. The produce is sold to the local community as well as being used at our centre cafés and to make delicious recipes within our independent living skills programme.
The people we work with derive many benefits from working at this centre. Nature and the countryside are never far away, providing a calm, spacious and therapeutic environment in which to work.
Other leisure and training based activities that take place here include: IT, woodwork, craft and music.
